"If ever there
was a place to come home to, this is it. It must take an incredible
amount of work, yet it is so warm and inviting, it comes across as THE
place to take your shoes off and relax" |
- Built in 1855 by masons who worked on the Erie
Canal
- Home is largely original
- Home site was first settled in 1790 with three
log cabins
- Some trees on the property are an estimated
500 years old
- We have a converted gambrel roofed barn on the
premises -
part post and beam and part gambrel conversion dating to the
early 19th century
- Block Milkhouse was erected in 1912 because
dairy cattle were kept here
- Many plants existing on the property were once
used to dye wool
- Because we have a large stand of Black Walnut,
Oak and Maple trees,
we are in a New York State Department of Conservation woodlot program.
